The Acoustic Music Company (TAMCO) was established by Trevor Moyle in 2001.

I set out to offer guitars and mandolins in the UK, mostly from the USA, that had previously not been available here. TAMCO now represents over forty of the very best North American guitar and mandolin luthiers, some small workshops but mostly individual craftsmen, making ten to twenty instruments per year. I work closely with them, if you have a question about an instrument I will talk with the luthier that makes it.

I do not work with distributors (who add to costs and usually have no interest in or knowledge of instruments - with the exception of Eastman mandolins). This way I can share part of the magic that is contemporary luthiery and offer you the prices that you would get importing yourself (and a UK based warranty with no need to return instrument to the USA for warranty work at your cost) as well as the opportunity to try out a selection of incredible instruments.

As well as a very wide selection of hand made guitars by North America's finest luthiers TAMCO has one of the biggest collections of mandolins available in the world today, from mid range instruments to the work of world class luthiers such as Mike Kemnitzer (Nugget mandolins), Michael Heiden and Hans Brentrup.

I specialise in these two areas and do not offer much in the way of accessories or any other instruments. (I do have some used instruments by the ‘famous names’ that come in in part exchange.) This way I can concentrate on fine guitars and mandolins and keep it small, intimate and personal with just myself and a part-time technician. I am not aiming for world domination, don’t expect to see TAMCO branches at your local shopping mall. There is a dedicated acoustically neutral playing room and plentiful tea and coffee. Please plan to be here for hours (or days) not a few minutes.

There are many restaurants and hotels nearby (including lots of independent hotels and bed and breakfasts in The New Steine and Madeira Place, both just around the corner), the sea-front is 100 yards away, the town center is 5 minutes walk, the station 15 minutes. We are 50 minutes from London Victoria Station and half an hour from Gatwick Airport. Brighton has one of the biggest choices of independent retailers in the UK as well as many other attractions to entertain those in tow...
